Dynamically passing table name in select query in vb.net

Today I tried to pass table name dynamically to select query  as
 cmd = New OdbcCommand ("select * from '" & table_name & "' where id=" & i & "", con)


But it failed. then fortunately got the correct one....
cmd = New OdbcCommand("select * from [" & table_name & "] where id=" & i & "", con)


Similarly avoid single quotes while using number.
eg: use  id=" & i & "  instead  id=' " & i & " ' ,when id is number type.

A Good Message for Young Software Engineers...

As I placed in i|Nautix, I atteneded 1 day workshop there. Really a good atmosphere.

Beyond this,  I realized a fact from our HR.
He said about Our CIO Suresk Kumar. Really great and interesting things.

Here the fact is, Our HR Mr. Ganesh expressed his view about the generation and evolution of Software Engineers. He categorized the software engineers into 3 generations.

The 1st generation people such as Narayanmoorty are founders of  current IT infrastructure. They worked hard to build current wonders and their smartness are amazing.

About 2nd generation,they are current software engineers who are leaded by those 1st generation people. They played a important role in growth of Indian IT legends.

Now coming to point, We are 3rd generation people. Already we all know about the unstable nature of IT industry. So, we have to think, "What our role is here?". Now also we are getting works from overseas. But the type and quality of work varies.

So, Finally We are going to be the future of IT. We have to meet the international standards. And also we can't blame our acadamices. It is our responsibility to improve our technical stuff, worth, and standard. We have alot to do.... If this continues, really we are going to struggle. Our elders made wonders, but continuing it is upto us...

Have opened eyes and good exposure towards our industry.....

A new toy to play..

"A NEW TOY TO PLAY", really a nice comment from "SomaSegars blog". Really it was nice to hear that, we are going to get a new platform to learn and develop. Yes, Microsoft going to release "Visual Studio 11 Beta and .NET 4.5 Beta" on feb 29,2012. Lets try guys.....
